What Is CNC Machining & What CNC Machining Services Do We Offer?

The demand for intelligent automation and machining is constantly increasing as projects become more complex and deadlines become shorter! So what is a machining service?

Machining is the process of removing material through mechanical precision processing to create a finished product, e.g. starting with a block of metal and shaving or drilling away layers until you’ve achieved the desired shape or size.

There are two main types of mechanical processing: manual processing and Computerized Numerical Control (CNC). The manual processing method requires a worker to operate mechanical equipment to create each product, and this method may be suitable for small batch production or simple, generic parts that require little detail.

Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) refers to the use of computer software to operate a range of machining tools. This method can be used to control and automate milling machines, lathes, drilling or sawing machines, and lots more. This can help speed up the production process as well as improve accuracy, and is ideal for high-volume production and complex bespoke parts.

Weimi Hardware Technology Co., Ltd. are a professional machining company and our team have over 15 years of machining experience, allowing us to provide comprehensive and high-quality CNC services for clients across a range of industries and geographical destinations.

We provide services including raw material procurement and processing, surface treatment, and assembly and packaging. Our customized services include CNC milling processing, CNC turning processing, sheet metal fabrication, stamping and lots more. At Weimi, we also have an on-site sample and a mass production workshop, allowing us to meet customers’ requirements on any project as well as product prototypes to any specification.

Here are some of the most common questions our clients ask about CNC machining:

1) Can CNC machined parts become damaged during production?

Our strict quality control process would catch any mistakes before they left the production line as we are aware of the most common mistakes in CNC manufacturing and can alleviate them. One way CNC machined parts can become damaged is through workpiece clamping, where the clamping point uses too much or too little pressure on the object, either causing dents or allowing it to move. In order to avoid this, it is necessary to select an appropriate clamping point and suitable pressure for the materials you are using, and ensure the clamp can support the object as well as hold it in place as this would prevent deformation during the manufacturing process.

2) Can you produce workpieces using any material?

While every care will be taken to meet your exact product specification, we may sometimes suggest changes due to the softness of the material, the wall thickness of the design (it needs to be able to support itself), and the stability of the material in your chosen environment. When designing parts it’s important to take into consideration these factors to minimize workpiece deformation and faults post-production.

3) What type of quality control equipment do you use?

After the workpiece is machined, we always carry out a strict inspection using a combination of the following tools: dental gauge (to inspect the size and quality of produced parts), needle gauge (to inspect small dimples or holes of the design), vernier caliper (for measuring outside depth and diameter of the parts), micrometer (for inspecting external, internal, and depth size – accurate to 0.01mm), additional three-dimensional detection equipment (to accurately measurement of the size, angle, shape and position of threaded parts and workpieces). All of our tools are suitable for machine manufacturing, precision engineering, mold manufacturing, mechanical parts, measuring tools, and fixtures for outstanding quality inspection.

Weimi will not only guarantee quality results, but will also research production methods to reduce machining costs for clients – we always seek to discover new, and more efficient processes and technologies to allow us to perfect our production process and offer competitive pricing for all of our services.

We always choose high-quality tools as we believe that is the first step in improving the efficiency of machining and reducing costs without sacrificing quality. This helps us increase the lifespan of our equipment, which is more environmentally friendly as we experience less equipment damage and require fewer tool replacements.

Our knowledgeable operators can set up our CNC devices and program them efficiently to produce accurate results every time. Every worker at Weimi is an experienced machining professional, which helps increase our processing efficiency and complete work within a tight deadline. Each worker is also able to troubleshoot common issues, meaning we can sort most problems on-site, without the need to call in external engineers.

At Weimi, we value our clients and pride ourselves in providing a top service, every time.
